Face Painting Booking Terms & Conditions


  1. Bookings can be made by using the online appointment system, or contacting me directly to request your date and time. Bookings must then be confirmed with me to secure your date.

  2. A £20 non-refundable booking fee will apply in order to secure your date. This must be received within 7 days of initial booking, or your date will be re-opened for other potential clients to book.

  3. The booking fee counts towards your final total, with the remainder of the balance due on the date of your event.

  4. If you are an agency, you must confirm in writing expected payment time prior to confirmation. Payments made by corporate clients will be expected within 31 days after the event worked unless otherwise agreed. Late payment fees will apply should these terms be breached and communications ignored. Late Payment fees will be added to invoice after a 7 day grace period.

  5. Booking fee payment can be taken via BACS, bank transfer to my business bank account or via Paypal. The balance can be paid either in cash on the day, or by bank transfer/paypal/BACS. Payment details will be provided during the confirmation process.


6. I require a minimum of 7 days notice prior to any cancellations. No fee will be charged for cancellations with 7 days or more notice, but booking fee will be retained.

7. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event date will be subject to an invoice of 100% of the total fee, payable within 31 days, for loss of income. Failure to comply may result in late fee demands.

8. I reserve the right to refuse to work with companies or individuals who prove themselves to be ‘unreliable’ in terms of cancellations, in future.


9. I request that I am never placed right beside a DJ box or speakers. Nor can I work in dim lighting. Please ensure there is a well lit area for my use, or inform me if I need to arrange additional lighting prior to confirmation.

10. I can provide my own chair and table if needed, however, as most venues have their own chairs and tables I will often request one table and two chairs be set aside for my use. Please let me know if you need me to bring my own table and chair.

11. For large events I may require a line manager, either provided by the event organiser or by myself for an additional fee.

Health and Safety

12. A risk assessment will be created for large public events. Event organisers must be compliant with this risk assessment in the interests of public safety.

13. I will not paint anyone who appears to have infectious conditions including conjunctivitis, runny noses, chickenpox, coldsores etc. I may also refuse to paint children with visible skin conditions such as excema where I deem a risk may be present. Parents/Guardians must take responsibility for these instances.

14. I will not paint any child (or adult) who is unwilling to be painted and/or clearly distressed. Likewise, I reserve the right to refuse to paint anyone, child or adult, acting in a violent or threatening manner that poses a risk to health and safety.

15. Children must never be left unsupervised. Parents/guardians must always be able to observe their children at all times during the painting process.

16. In the event that I am using a high chair, with stool, that a child is unable to climb into themselves, an appropriate parent or guardian must assist the child into the chair.

17. Nobody except the painter is to touch the paints or equipment for numerous health and safety reasons.

Equipment Information

18. I use only the highest quality paints and equipment that is well maintained and regularly cleaned to professional standards.

19. Any loss of or damage to equipment must be compensated by the event organiser.

20. I keep fresh water on hand and operate to a one-sponge-per-face policy for the best standards of hygiene.

21. Removal instructions will be provided verbally if requested. Special care instructions will also be available in digital/print copies if required.

Professional Conduct

22. I have invested a lot of time and money into my business to ensure I can provide you with a professional service. I will be reliable and on time for your event. In the unlikely event that I have to cancel my attendance at your event, I will offer a form of compensation should unexpected circumstances arise.

23. If you have additional accessibility or other requirements, please inform me prior to the event so that I can be prepared to accommodate your needs.

24. I may ask permission to take photographs of children/adults I paint to be used on my website and social media. Where permission is denied, no photographs will be taken.

25. I conduct myself in a friendly, courteous manner at all times and will expect the same treatment myself.

26. My set up time is around 5 minutes. I will inform the children/event organiser when I am ready to start. You will get the full amount of time you have paid for.

27. I have useful contacts within the Face Painting and Entertainment industries. If additional face painters or entertainers are required I may be able to organise this.

Additional Booking Time

28. In peak season I often have more than one party or event in the same day. For this reason I MUST leave on time. It is the sole responsibility of the events organiser to inform guests of my finishing time, and enforce it so that I can get to my next event.

29. If I do not have another event after your party and you want me to stay longer, I can do this for an additional £15 per half hour requested. Please have a quiet word with me to organise this.

30. I can paint up to 12 FULL faces per hour, and more if the designs are smaller. It is up to the event host to ensure they have booked enough time to accommodate all of their guests. I hate to leave anyone disappointed so please double check this before confirmation.

Public Events

31. Outdoor events must provide suitable shelter or advise me well in advance if I need to provide my own shelter. In the case of event organiser arranging shelter, I must have plenty of space, and not be placed in direct sunlight.

32. Face Painting generally relies upon good weather for outdoor events. I reserve the right to cancel attendance or leave early if the weather is too bad to provide face painting. Airbrush Tattoos can be provided in any weather, as long as there is adequate shelter. Event organisers should keep an eye upon weather reports and decide as soon as possible whether an event is to go ahead, and inform me, in the event I need to find alternative work.

33. Rain days may not be possible i.e. where an event is moved to another date due to weather or other unseen circumstances. Bear in mind that I will attempt to accommodate a date switch where possible, but I will often be booked for such occasions and alternative artists may be required.

34. Event organisers are solely responsible for ensuring that events are well advertised and well attended.
